Connecting With My Life In A Journal

Updated: Jan 24

A viewer once asked me "do you paint your emotions?, are you angry here and so you scribble?"

I responded, "when I am painting, it is a very special time for me. It's a gift of time I give to myself so I like to spend that time in a good mood, not angry or bitter."

Of course, in my life I feel sadness and anger at myself and the world. I feel shame and guilt, I feel resentment and anguish. I am sometimes bewildered by other's behaviors. I ache at times for my children. I miss my parents and siblings.

I am also grateful, amazed, astonished, inspired and loved and these emotions are what I'm feeling when I paint.
