Hello You!

I've been creating paintings and ceramic pieces for a new show coming in May. I'm excited to be part of the 2 Artists 2 Mediums show May 6-18 at The Village Arts Gallery in Spanish Village, Balboa Park. Together with Denise Cerro, we've created all new work in two mediums and we're sharing it with you. You're invited to our opening reception on May 8th from 5-7pm or any day during the show, 11am-4pm.

New Paintings and Ceramic Pieces

As I continue along my creative journey, I get inspired by all sorts of themes and feelings. Every new painting or ceramic piece comes from a burst of imagination, showing off different parts of my artistic journey.

Visitors in My Creative Space

When I'm painting, I often feel the presence of muses. They might be influential figures from art history who inspire how I work, nature and the beauty of the natural world that sparks my creativity or memories and feelings from personal experiences that shape the stories in my pieces.

The Figures in My Paintings

The characters in my paintings are often a mix of abstract, realism and myth. They may represent emotions and thoughts that are hard to put into words, the essence of people who have impacted my life or they may symbolize deeper themes and universal truths.

The Uniqueness of Ceramics

Every ceramic piece I make is totally unique, capturing the spontaneity and individuality of my artistic style. Working with clay lets me explore by trying out different techniques to create unique surfaces, using various glazes to get distinct finishes and effects, and balancing looks with practicality in every piece.

By allowing myself to freely explore both painting and ceramics, I am discovering new sides of my creativity, welcoming both familiar and surprising influences into my work.

In gratitude,

Susie
