Nature of Poetry - Art Journaling Workshop
November 12, 2016
What I really want to write is what I learned last Saturday leading my first Zol Journaling workshop. I learned that I am stronger and more confident than I think, and I deserve to give myself credit for that. I learned that I really enjoy having the company of artists around me. I learned that I enjoy seeing their internal connection and expression of themselves by letting their creativity flow onto their pages. I learned that parts of my personality that I sometimes struggle with, like over-preparing, or expecting things to go just as I plan actually help me. Without them, I would not feel comfortable thinking I was letting others down rather than lifting them up.
I learned that artists like to look for new ways to tap into inspiration and let themselves get lost in time. I learned that other artists are just like me in wanting to have the space and time to make art. They want to know that space for their art is not just a physical space in the house but a sacred space in their hearts where they hold themselves gently. They want to know that it's okay to take time to play, that expressing themselves through creativity is important and necessary for their personal growth.
Here is a selection of photos from the day. I hope you will make plans to join me next year!
