I've always been drawn to paying close attention.

When I'm away from the studio, I'm often in moments of quiet observation. I'm interested in the subtle presence of a place or moment that may go unnoticed. Back in the studio, I begin my paintings intuitively, allowing color, shape, rhythm, and memory to guide my creative practice.

While my paintings are abstract, they are rooted in observation. I don't paint what something looks like as much as I paint what it feels like to encounter it. I want to convey the movement, balance, and quiet vitality that exist in even the most ordinary moments. Painting is how I see, discover, sort, and remember. It's how I make sense of the world around me. Through color, shape, rhythm, and intuition, I explore the quiet energy that connects us to the places and moments we often pass by.

For me, painting is an act of attention. It is a way of slowing down, noticing beauty in the ordinary, and giving form to experiences that are often difficult to express with words. I hope my work invites others to pause, look a little longer, and discover not only what they see, but what they feel.
