Hello You!

I'm thrilled to say I'll be at ArtWalk Little Italy this year. You'll find me at booth 835 on India Street, ready to share my abstract and figurative style paintings. I’m planning to fill my booth with the colorful, introspective, joyful paintings you've come to love from me. I'm also working on an idea for a bin of smaller, well-priced (wink, wink) pieces.

ArtWalk is Saturday and Sunday, April 25 & 26. 10-6 on Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday. Here's a link to their website for more info... www.sandiegoartwalk.org

A Day in the Life at Booth 835!

Putting together everything I need for two days at ArtWalk starts with a lot of planning! The paintings all need to be complete, varnished, wired and ready to go home with their new owners. I'll need a pop-up canopy, mesh walls, a banner with my name, a table for smaller pieces, a chair for sitting (if there's time!) and that's just the big stuff! Of course, I'll bring my brightest smile and positive energy for a fun weekend.

I enjoy these outdoor art shows for more than selling my art. I love sharing stories, especially about creative process, connecting with people and learning how my creative life inspires others,

My Abstract and Figurative Styles

My abstract paintings focus on shapes, colors, and textures rather than realistic depictions. Looking at this style of painting invites you to interpret a meaning using your emotions and personal experience. This is the powerful affect of abstract art. It asks you to participate in it's expression. The paintings I’m bringing to share will have you looking and interpreting with:

  • Bold color fields that evoke mood and energy.

  • Dynamic brushstrokes that create movement and depth.

  • Layered textures that invite close inspection.

My figurative art represents human figures, but with a creative twist. I love to blend realism with expressive elements like:

  • Stylized portraits that capture personality and emotion.

  • Scenes that tell stories through body language and composition.

  • A mix of traditional and modern techniques to create unique visual narratives.

I hope to see you in Little Italy, downtown San Diego as it transforms into an open-air art gallery during ArtWalk. It's exciting, inspiring and filled with creativity. Plan to spend some time walking and viewing all the artists who've worked as hard as I have to get here. Let me know if you have any questions at all. I'm looking forward to seeing you!

In gratitude,

Susie
